The FLOW Consortium recently met in Bremen, Germany 🇩🇪, hosted by our partner, Fraunhofer-Institut für Windenergiesysteme. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partners to come together, share updates, and discuss the next steps for the FLOW project.

Key updates were shared across several work packages (WPs), including significant progress in tools validation, data sharing, and SCADA-driven wind farm flow simulations. These developments are instrumental in advancing the FLOW validation prototype and driving innovation in offshore wind technology.
The consortium also focused on improving wind modeling techniques, with discussions on error databases, calibration methods, and the impact of physical parameters. These advancements are essential for refining wind resource assessments and enhancing the accuracy of wind forecasting, helping to optimize offshore wind farm performance.
Additionally, a workshop was held to discuss stakeholder involvement and training activities. This session explored how the results of the FLOW project can be effectively shared and applied within the wind energy sector, ensuring that the project’s outcomes have a meaningful impact.
Throughout the meeting, it was clear that the collaboration between partners is a key driver of the project’s success. The FLOW project continues to bring together experts from various fields, all working towards the common goal of improving offshore wind technology.

As the meeting concluded, the consortium reflected on the progress made and looked ahead to the next steps. With advancements in wind modeling and resource assessment, the FLOW project is on track to make a significant contribution to the offshore wind industry.
We would like to thank all of our partners for their continued commitment and collaboration. Stay tuned for further updates as we move forward with our efforts to support a more sustainable and efficient wind energy future.
