FLOW is pleased to announce a collaborative effort with the Industrial Doctoral Network AptWind, supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. This partnership marks a significant step forward in enhancing wind energy research through innovative approaches.
In this collaboration, Vestas industrial doctoral candidate Ansh Patel, under the guidance of Jakob Mann and Mikael Sjöholm at DTU, is delving into the coherence of wind fluctuations across multiple locations. Utilizing data from the dedicated #FLOW measurement campaign, which took place along the west coast of Denmark from January to June 2024, this research aims to understand how wind fluctuations at different sites, separated by several hundred meters, interact with each other.
The insights gained from this study are essential for improving the prediction of loads on future large-scale wind turbines. By analyzing these fluctuations, the project seeks to enhance the reliability and efficiency of wind energy systems, paving the way for more robust and effective wind turbine designs. This collaboration highlights the powerful synergy between FLOW and AptWind in advancing the field of wind energy through cutting-edge research and technological innovation.
